Mary Rose Academy positively encourages as many pupils as possible to access Residential Visits. The benefits to the pupils are wide ranging with positive impact on their personal development, their self esteem and their learning. They offer opportunities they may not otherwise have. They are planned to meet the wide ranging interests and needs of our pupils and are exciting and fun. We focus on engagement and team building and encourage pupils to be as independent as possible and to take on a sense of personal responsibility. Even the ‘down time’ at the end of the day when they relax and meet with their friends is very important and helps them to build positive relationships.

Most of our residential visits have a sporting focus and include skiing, sailing and outdoor adventurous activities, connecting with the outdoor world as well as developing health and fitness. We organise at least 6 per year and all pupils from age 10yrs and above have the opportunity to benefit from them.
