Puffin is a Lower Primary autism class full of little and lively pupils.
Even though we like our routine, we still have lots of fun!
We learn best through sensory exploration and structured play.
We like to keep ourselves regulated by spinning, rocking, jumping, running and of course smiling!
This term Puffin class have had lots of fun exploring the wonderful world of toys.
As a class’ we particularly loved playing with the babies and barbies!
We enjoyed feeding, dressing and rocking the baby to sleep. But our favourite activity was putting the baby ‘in’ and ‘out’ of the bath until the baby was all clean!
Puffin class were incredibly happy when we visited the park, each pupil built their confidence to engage with different park equipment and practising their turn taking. We can’t wait to go again next term!
Puffin class had lots of fun using the dice to create our own ‘Enchanted Tale’ for our Stunning Start! We enjoyed anticipating the dice being thrown into the air, but our favourite bit was exploring the props that went with it!
Our favourite story that we created was;
‘Once upon a time’ – listening to the tick toking of a clock
‘The 3 Billy Goats Gruff’ – touching the goats furry coat
‘Went to a party’ – listening and having a dance to music
‘They got very hungry and went home for their dinner’ - exploring toy food
‘The End’ – a calming squeeze
We are very excited to see what other Enchanted Tales we are going to learn about over the term.
