Class Teacher: Ed Bond & Claire Turner

Welcome to pioneer class. We are a post 16 class based at The Lantern.

 The students have had a wonderful start to the year in Pioneer class and have enjoyed doing some familiar activities in their new environment. They have explored the different areas that can be used including sensory and the outdoor spaces, and have practiced completing some tasks with new classmates. We have started to look at enterprise ideas, and have been using Hama beads to practise making some Halloween products.

Our goals for this year are to support students with preparing for adulthood and independent living, building on personal hygiene routines, road safety, and to work on being more independent when preparing food and drinks.

We are looking forward to returning to kayaking and Fort Purbrook where we enjoy outdoor activities and a very exciting year!
