September 2021

Globetrotters are a mostly Year 13 group and are getting used to the experiences that come with day-to-day routines.

Some enjoy the sensory room to regulate and we have a couple of students who enjoy music and films.

They have been a class together for a little while now, so they know each other well and enjoy each other’s company.

They are very good at taking turns and are respectful of each other when playing games.

They group will be taking part in various businesses to help them prepare for work and we have some exciting activities based in the community to help build on their personal and social skills.

December 2021

This term Globetrotters class have been working hard, volunteering at Wymering Manor, one of the oldest houses in Portsmouth.

The students have been helping to keep paths safe by clearing the leaves away and have also been weeding the plant beds. The staff at the Manor have been kind enough to allocate one of the beds to us so we can start to plant some vegetables in the spring.

Some of the students also dug out a path way at the formal entrance to the house and placed edging stones in the ground. This took around three weeks of volunteering and the students were really pleased with their achievement.

We’ve also been out and about in the community going to Bikeability, Fort Purbrook and have enjoyed a number of small trips to Canoe Lake and the outdoor gym.

Next term we are looking forward to helping out inside Wymering Manor house and helping them to decorate the rooms!
